Australia’s premier car and motorcycle display takes place over the three days of October 24 – 26 at Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building. Now in its fifth year, Motorclassica is a mix of the world’s premium metal alongside the offerings of humble, single-make car and motorcycle clubs, providing something to dream about as well as something you might one-day achieve. A special feature of this year’s event is the participation of Gina Campbell, daughter of the speed record legend, Donald Campbell.
The competition among the motorcycle entrants is fierce with Australia’s largest collectors attempting to convince the judges that their entry is nut-and-bolt perfect. Judging is conducted to the highest international standards and Motorcycle Trader’s very own Spannerman has been pressed into service for the fourth year running.
If you’re there on Saturday morning, you’ll see him moving from bike to bike making and exchanging notes with his co-judge. You’ll recognise the beard but, such is the standard of the event, he has to wear slacks and a coat!
Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for children aged 5 – 15 or $80 for two adults and two children. The pensioner ticket is $25. Opening hours are Friday from 9.00am -6.00pm, Saturday 9.00am – 9.00pm and Sunday 9.00am – 5.00pm. For more information, visit www.motorclassica.com.au
