Draggin Jeans Australia CEO and founder Grant Mackintosh has been involved in a serious motorcycle accident.

In a statement, Mackintosh swerved to avoid an oncoming cyclist travelling on the wrong side of the road. He is in a serious but stable condition.

“Grant sustained multiple injuries and was in high dependency for several days,” the company said. The accident occurred three weeks ago.

Injuries include a slight fracture of the skull, causing a brain haemorrhage which is no longer bleeding. He sustained no cognitive damage. Further injuries include a fractured thoracic vertebrae, a fractured sternum and at least eight fractured ribs.

No further details are known about the cyclist.

“Obviously Grant has been suffering severe pain, but is now on the road to recovery at Calvary Rehab in South Australia and is as usual pushing himself every day.”

Mackintosh was wearing his company’s protective motorcycle jeans and suffered no abrasion injuries, Draggin Jeans says.
